Porn addicts look at and use porn compulsively, despite consequences, which can include:
- Have tried to stop in the past but can’t
- Loss of interest in sex with their partner
- Sexual dysfunction with a partner, including the inability to maintain an erection, delayed ejaculation and an inability to reach orgasm
- Your once-thriving sex life has made a drastic nosedive
- The addict becomes critical of you, can become demanding, rough or oddly strange during sex
- An inability to form lasting social and intimate romantic relationships
- Secretive, evasive or defensive
- May exhibit antisocial behaviors including a lack of remorse for his or her actions, aggression, outbursts of anger, frequent lying, indifference to actions that harm others, or an easy use of flattery or charm to manipulate others.
- Intense feelings of depression, shame and isolation
- Physical injury caused by compulsive masturbation
- The disintegration of relationships with family, friends and romantic partners
- Loss of many hours, sometimes entire days, to porn use
- Loss of interest in activities such as work, school, socializing, family, insufficient sleep and exercise
- Trouble at work or in school
- Financial issues
